The Official Idina Menzel YouTube channel has just posted a new video of Idina preparing for last Sunday’s Memorial Day concert in Washington D.C. •IDINA AT “SEX AND THE CITY” NYC PREMIERE •

Idina made an appearance earlier this evening on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of the film, Sex and the City. Looking stunning as ever, some great pictures are beginning to surface. •VINTAGE IDINA VID EXCLUSIVE! — “TOMPKINS SQUARE” •

After many years of waiting, I was finally able to catch a re-airing of a very vintage Idina Menzel video: Comedy Central’s “Tompkins Square”, originally broadcast on November 2, 1996, featuring a young Idina while she was still performing in Broadway’s Rent!

The show was a short-lived, stand-up comedy program, hosted by Jeff Ross. Idina guested in the 6th episode as a heckler giving Ross a hard time for his crappy singing voice. As a challenge, he calls her up to sing better. She then rips it up with a rockin’ rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”! Classic Idina – an audio clip many have heard but FEW have seen!

But here it is! It’s been 2 years since the last time it aired, and who knows when it’ll air again. But enjoy it by downloading it in the Video Archive or by going to the IdinaHeredotcom YouTube channel.

NOTE: During the video, take a look at who Idina is sitting next to in the audience — It’s current husband/then-Rent-castmate, Taye Diggs!

•PBS MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT VIDEOS •

Yes, this is a day late, but I couldn’t get the videos off my TV until tonight. BUT! As most of you know, Idina appeared last night as a special guest performer at the 2008 Memorial Day Concert in Washington D.C., which aired on U.S. channel, PBS. Idina performed a great medley of standards, and then treated the audience to her original song, “Where Do I Begin?.” Finally, she ended the night with the rest of the performers (including Gladys Knight and Sarah Brightman) singing “God Bless America.” The videos have been added to the Video Archive, as well as the IdinaHeredotcom YouTube channel.

Another west coast date has been added to Idina’s growing summer tour! This time, Idina will be performing in the gorgeous coastal town of Santa Barbara, CA @ the Lobero Theatre on Wednesday, June 18th (8PM). For more information, visit the Idina.com Event Page, or read below:

This would have been the perfect show for me to attend (since I’ll be in SB two days before for my sis’ graduation), but unfortunately, I’m flying to Europe the day before the concert. I’m sad, but I know all you fans will turn out and show support. This will now be her first west coast concert, since her San Diego show will take place 2 days following. Hopefully more west coast shows will be added shortly!

•NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED •

Concert site, LiveNation, has announced two new concert dates to Idina’s growing tour schedule – one in Washington, D.C. and one in New Jersey. It looks like a summer tour is really taking shape! The details of the new dates are as follows:

  • Thu JUNE 26 @ Music Box at The Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ

    Information about tickets for the Washington, D.C. show will be announced soon, but the tickets for the New Jersey show will go on sale this Sat. May 25 @ 10AM, so check back to the LiveNation page for info.
