Hey everyone!  Sorry it’s been sort of quiet on posts, but I’ve been busy working on a new feature for the site!  If you have Twitter, make sure you’re following Idina-Here for all of the quick updates that happen throughout the week.

Speaking of quick updates, here’s a rundown from the week:

– Pictures have been added to the gallery from the commencement ceremony where Idina was presented with an honorary doctorate from Long Island University.  The school also uploaded a video of Idina singing “America the Beautiful” here.

– Pictures have also been added from the Hartford, CT concert, thanks to Laura Marshall.  Don’t forget to let me know if you have any to add!

– There was a really great interview published before the Hartford concert too.  Idina talked about a former job of manning the phones to take restaurant reservations, A BroaderWay, as well as her thoughts on performing.  You can read the interview here.

And finally, the May 20th deadline for the birthday project is approaching quickly!  In case you aren’t familiar, fans are coming together to wish Idina happy birthday via postcards from their hometown.  I hope she’ll have a box full of postcards from around the world!  Here’s the address once again:

Today, Idina was presented with a Matrix Award by the New York Women in Communications, Inc., which honors “the extraordinary achievements of outstanding women in the communications industry.”  The entire awards presentation can be viewed here. Her section begins right about the two hour mark with Dana Tyler’s introduction followed by Idina’s speech.  Pictures have also been added to the gallery, which can be accessed by clicking on any of the pictures below.  Congratulations, Idina!

First, let me just say — Wow! Idina really has the best fans! Thank you to everyone who responded to my tweet last night for web design help! I’m so glad that I can count on others to continue to make this the best fansite possible! A new feature for the site is currently in the works and will hopefully be up and running in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

In other news, Idina has added another show! She will be performing in La Jolla, California at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies on August 27th. This is a benefit, so ticket prices could be steep. No on-sale information is available yet.  A link to the website can be found in the sidebar.

Finally, Idina was spotted in last week’s Star magazine on the “Best of the Week” fashion page for her stunning red outfit she wore to the Alzheimer’s Association benefit last week! (Thanks to Julie for the scan.  And coincidentally, another former WICKED costar was also in the issue! Visit Megan Hilty Online’s Facebook page for that pic!)
