There’s a new organization that is quickly gaining steam. It’s called We Give A Damn and focuses on GLBT equality and education.

The Give a Damn Campaign is for everybody who cares about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.
But, it’s especially for all you straight people out there! Whether you’re already an active supporter, want to show your support for the first time, or hadn’t given equality a lot of thought before and now want to learn more, we are here to help you get informed about the issues and get involved, at a pace that works for you.
You’ll find a lot of useful information throughout this site—information that’ll engage you, surprise you and move you. You will also find a bunch of ways to get involved and show your support and encourage your straight peers to show theirs as well.

For all you gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender folks—we need and want you here, too! Because this site is also for you. Not only will you learn new things that might surprise and interest you, you’ll also find a lot of useful tools and resources that will help you encourage the straight people in your life to give a damn.
Like we said, the Give a Damn Campaign is for everyone. Because the only way we can truly achieve equality for all is if we all get informed and get involved. So join us today and let us know you give a damn!

Idina has teamed up with them to speak out against hate crimes in their new campaign video. Watch it below, and be sure to visit their website for more information on the organization.

It’s been announced that Idina will be headlining the annual Weill Cornell Cabaret Benefit on October 13th. The benefit raises funds for the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. It is a black tie event and tickets start at $2,000! If you would like to attend and support the hospital, call Jessica at (212) 921-9070 x 14. Assuming photos are released from the event, we will put them up in the gallery as soon as possible.

Also announced is confirmation of an odd little rumor that has been floating around Idina’s Wiki page for many months, seemingly without reason. However, today omg! is reporting that Idina has voiced the Queen of Hearts in an Alice in Wonderland-themed episode of children’s animated program Wonder Pets! The episode airs in the US October 15th at 10 am ET/9 am CT on Nickelodeon (double-check your local listings).

Idina just added another concert to her symphony tour! She’ll be joining the St. Louis Symphony on January 23, 2011. They’ve already launched fan club presales, so head over to the My Account section of IdinaMenzel.com to purchase! Public on sale begins September 27.
