Who needs dinner and a movie when you can go to an awards show?<\/p>\n
Idina Menzel and husband Aaron Lohr and had a special date night at the Academy Awards on Sunday night. The couple stunned on the red carpet as they smiled and posed for photos together.<\/p>\n
Menzel, 48, dazzled in a strapless magenta gown, while Lohr, 43, kept his look classic in a sleek black tux.<\/p>\n
The actress is set to perform the Oscar-nominated song \u201cInto the Unknown\u201d from Frozen 2 during the ceremony \u2014 and she\u2019s the first to admit that she\u2019s a bit nervous about the star-studded crowd that will be watching.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a lot of pressure,\u201d she said on the red carpet. \u201cBrad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio being right there, I\u2019d like to hit all the notes properly.\u201d<\/p>\n
And while Menzel will take the stage without her husband by her side, the couple reflected on collaborating on her Christmas album and subsequent live performance together.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe recorded \u2018I\u2019ll Be Home for Christmas\u2019 for her Christmas album and then asked me to perform at Carnegie Hall,\u201d said Lohr.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe learned to salsa dance together so we had an only-dancing number in my show,\u201d added Menzel.<\/p>\n
So what was it like working together? Turns out, it wasn\u2019t all smooth sailing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe almost divorced because we started with the teacher,\u201d Menzel joked. \u201cThe man always leading is not the way I\u2019m accustomed too!\u201d<\/p>\n
Menzel and Lohr tied the knot in September 2017 in an intimate backyard ceremony.<\/p>\n
