This comes to you a few hours later than I hoped to post it, and I apologize – I wasn’t near a computer, but I knew this was an urgent update that was relevant to many of you.

This was announced this morning in a press release sent to Vassar College:

“Tony Award-winning actress Idina Menzel, the former star of ‘Wicked’ and ‘Rent,’ will not appear in the Powerhouse Theater production of “Romantic Poetry” this summer because of an unavoidable scheduling conflict, Vassar College announced today. The college, in a press release, said Menzel’s replacement will be named as soon as possible.” (source & full article: Poughkeepsie Journal)

I should also announce that tickets are non-refundable. As of right now, I don’t have any further information as to the reasoning behind the cancellation. If I find anything out, I will do my best to let you all know. I understand many people were making plans to go see the show in New York, and this is definitely an unfortunate development.

If any further news reaches me, I will keep everyone posted. Again, I’m sorry for the disappointing news.
