Rumors came, and now they’re confirmed! Idina has been persuaded to open the role of Elphaba in London’s West End premiere of Wicked, beginning September 7, 2006 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre for a limited engagement! Previews begin on September 7th, with the opening scheduled for the 27th. The end of her run has not been announced, but it is likely to be a short stint, after which she’ll be replaced by a British performer.
