Sorry for being MIA lately, everyone — a small handful of Idina-related things have piled up, and I thought I’d wait until I could have some more things for you all. I’ve also been pretty busy preparing to return to school.

I’ve added a video to the site, which is a recent appearance by Idina on the entertainment news show “Extra!”, where she was interviewed about her upcoming film Enchanted. She is even in full costume (a gorgeous gown!). It’s very short, and since I didn’t know about it until afterwards, I only have a bad quality vid that someone recorded on their camera that cuts off too soon . Until I can get a better one (anyone out there have it?), this is all I have, but it’s still very enjoyable. I credit Nessa for getting it to me and making it downloadable (thanks, sweetheart!), and it can be found on the Television Videos Page.

The Times in the UK has published a new article about Wicked in London, and Idina has been featured in the interview. The link can be found on the Times website here. If anyone has a scan of the actual magazine/newspaper, I’d love to add it to the new London Scans Album I’ve created in the Gallery for all the articles being released.

The site is going to be on a week-long hiatus, because I will be gone on vacation until Saturday, August 12th — Since Idina is in the middle of rehearsals, there probably won’t be any huge developments, but if you’re desperate for the possibility of new info, the So Beautiful Message Board is a great place to look. The comments section with remain active, but I won’t be here to monitor/edit anything (or answer questions), so please be respectful of each other and avoid spamming with unnecessary comments.

Quick Idina News:
#1: According to British theatre site, TheStage.co.uk, a benefit Gala to preview Wicked in the West End will take place on September 19th, hosted by Sharon Osbourne to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Great cause and I’m sure the event will be wonderful!
#2: There’s a great mention of Idina by fellow London cast-mate, Martin Ball (the newest Dr. Dillamond), in his online Diary about the rehearsal process of the show. Click here to view the entry, titled “Martin’s Diary: The first day”. In reference to Idina, he states:

Thanks to the wonderful people on So Beautiful, I’ve been alerted to these great new pics. I’ve added 8 pictures of the new London cast of Wicked rehearsing together for the first time! A small article announcing the arrival of Wicked in London has appeared on the Daily Mail (a London-based news source) website. Featuring a picture of Idina and new London Glinda, Helen Dallimore, this is just a tiny little article that marks the first of what will likely be many over the next few months. I spent today capping Idina’s scenes from Ask the Dust (which, as stated in the last post, is out now on DVD.) I’ve added 218 screen captures to the Gallery, but I must state: SOME IMAGES CONTAIN MILD NUDITY AND/OR SPOILERS TO THE PLOT! You have been warned! I made the decision to include these caps, because they are an important part of the film and I didn’t want to exclude them in the end. None of it is graphic or offensive, but it may be something you don’t want to know before seeing the movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, just beware.
