Playbill is reporting that Idina will join a who’s-who of Broadway greats at the 2009 Dramatists Guild Gala on April 20th in New York. Idina last participated in this event in 2004 while she was still appearing in Wicked. I wonder what she’ll sing this time?

IDINA & TAYE ATTEND “MINSKY’S” OPENING NIGHT

IDINA & TAYE ATTEND “MINSKY’S” OPENING NIGHT

Idina & Taye attended the opening night of Minsky’s, starring Idina’s former Wicked co-star, Christopher Fitzgerald, at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles last week. I’ve added several photos from their backstage visit to the gallery. You may view them by clicking the thumbnails below.

Also, Idina’s official site is launching a new mobile list which, I assume, will deliver news and contest info directly to your cell phone. To join, simply text IDINA to 50505. If you think you’re already on a mobile list, it’s ok to join again as their two lists will be merged so you don’t get duplicates of everything.

Note: This is for US customers only.

APPEARANCE @ SYRACUSE AWARDS

According to Syracuse University’s events website, Pulse, Idina will be making a guest appearance at their 2009 “Women of Distinction” awards ceremony on March 20 at 3:00 pm in Goldstein Auditorium – the same venue she is performing at on March 19! Idina’s concert at SU is a part of their Women’s History Month event schedule, so it’s pretty cool they also asked her to stay and speak at their awards ceremony.

Tickets are still available for the March 19 concert by calling the box office at (315) 443-4517. $20 per person ($5 for SU students), and it is General Admission.

And on a related note, the meet & greet contest for Idina’s spring tour is now open! Just head over to Idina’s Official Fan Club to enter! Remember, only members of Idina’s Official Fan Club are eligible to attend the meet & greet, so join up if you want your chance to meet Idina!

Exciting news, friends! TV Guide is reporting that Idina is going to guest star for multiple episodes on Taye’s hit ABC series, Private Practice. The episodes will be airing later this season.

Details about her appearance have been reported as follows:

[…] Tony winner Idina Menzel will guest-star on the ABC series later this season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

To hear one source tell it, Pete’s special brand of “bedside manner” might bring about an attraction between him and Menzel’s character. At this early stage, it’s unclear if Menzel and her main man will share many scenes […]
