Idina Menzel attended the National Women’s History Museum’s 7th Annual Women Making History Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday. Kristen Bell, her FROZEN co-star, was being honored at the event. See the photos in the gallery!

Per Deadline, Idina Menzel is joining Adam Sandler, Eric Bogosian, Lakeith Stanfield and Judd Hirsch in the cast of the new movie Uncut Gems. Set in the Diamond district of New York City, Adam Sandler will star as a jewelry store owner with a gambling addiction who is juggling two relationships and escalating debts. Idina will play his wife.
The film, which will reportedly begin filming later this year, was written by Josh and Ben Safdies and their regular writing collaborator Ronald Bronstein. Producers are Scott Rudin and Eli Bush through Scott Rudin Productions and Elara Pictures’ Sebastian Bear-McClard and Oscar Boyson. Martin Scorsese & Emma Tillinger Koskoff are executive producers.

Idina Menzel announced today that she will be releasing a live album, idina:live, on October 5! The album, which was recorded while she was on tour last Summer, also features a studio version of “Bridge Over Trouble Water”. You can pre-order the album beginning Friday. As we all know, Idina is starring in a new Off-Broadway play, Skintight, this Summer. Of course, I had to make a special trip out to NYC to see her! I made the most of it and caught the show in the evening on Friday, July 13 and then again at the matinee on July 14. This was my first play, and I tried to avoid spoilers, so I wasn’t totally sure what to expect going into it. I’ve always liked to joke that I would go see Idina perform even if she were singing the phone book and unsurprisingly, now I know that I would find her just as compelling and engaging if she were reading it instead! I found Skintight very funny and thought-provoking. Idina’s performance is intense and layered, and the entire cast was amazing alongside her. If you have the chance to catch Skintight before it closes on August 26, I highly recommend it! You can get more information and buy tickets at RoundaboutTheatre.org.
