Idina has been listed as one of several artists scheduled to bid farewell to “Today Show” co-host, Katie Couric during her final 3-hour show, May 31, 2006! According to the New York Post, Idina will perform during the tribute episode in addition to such stars as Tony Bennet and Martina McBride — “The Today Show” is syndicated across the country, and airs for 3 hours in the morning (check your local listings for times.)

EDIT: I’ve received word that Idina will be appearing on the show at 7:45AM, and she is scheduled to perform a shortened version of “For Good” from Wicked with country megastar Trisha Yearwood. If anymore information comes about this appearance, I’ll be sure to post it.

Last night, the Drama Desk Awards took place, and unfortunately, Idina was not the winner in her category – She was there, and anyone who tuned in to the online broadcast probably caught a glimpse or two of her in the audience. And thanks to Cassie, I’ve put up 14 HQ images from the event that are simply stunning! More are coming and will be put up as soon as I get them. So enjoy these, and keep checking back.

The 2006 Drama Desk Awards ceremony, which honors the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway, will take place tonight at 9PM (EST) at the LaGuardia Concert Hall in Manhattan. Idina, as previously announced, has been nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her role(s) in See What I Wanna See last fall. I’ve heard word that Idina is likely to attend the event, which means pictures will soon follow!

Also, the ceremony is being recorded and will air on PBS stations nationwide in the coming future (date info TBA) — Please read this article from Playbill.com, which has more specifics about airings. For people living in NYC, the show will air on Thirteen/WNET and on NYC-25 TV, according to the article. For those of us not in the city, TheaterMania.com will be airing a live video of the awards as they happen! So tune in if you can, and you might spot Idina!
