Sorry for the slow news this past week! I’ve been on vacation, but after a great concert in San Diego (by Ms. Menzel!) I’m back online. A ton of things have happened since our last update! I’ll break this up into a couple posts to avoid confusion.

On June 30th, Idina will be performing in NYC at the annual “Trevor Project” gala benefit. The Trevor Project is an organization that operates the nation’s only around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth. For more information or to purchase tickets to this event, visit The Trevor Project’s website.

Note: This is a charity benefit, so tickets don’t come cheaply, but it’s sure to be a moving, emotional evening for a very good cause.

Sarah on IMMB has just announced a string of new tour dates for Idina’s Summer ’08 tour. In addition to the 6 previously-announced dates, the following cities were just added:

Wow, she’ll be getting good use out of her first-ever REAL tour bus.

Idina was interviewed this morning on KYXY’s morning show “Sonny & Susan” in preparation for her June 20th concert in San Diego, CA. To download the interview directly from the station site, click here.

Just a reminder that tonight, June 15, Idina will be performing LIVE on the 2008 Tony Awards with the rest of the original principal cast of RENT, along with the current Broadway cast, as part of a farewell to the show that gave Idina her Broadway debut (and first Tony nomination) 12 years ago.

The Tony Awards air live on CBS in most markets, but may be tape delayed on the west coast, so be sure to check local listings. In case you miss it tonight, Idina’s performance will be posted here eventually.

Also, the red carpet arrivals are streamed LIVE online at tonyawards.com beginning at 6:00 pm EDT/3:00 pm PDT, so keep an eye out for Idina’s arrival!

Concert promoter LiveNation has announced another new concert date for Idina’s tour schedule – this time, in North Carolina! The details of the new dates are as follows:

Tickets go on sale next Saturday, June 21 @ 10 am EDT. For more information, visit the venue website.

On an a different note, you may or may not have noticed that it’s not Kim who posted this update. I’d like to formally introduce myself, so hello! My name is Erin, aka on the boards and communities as ‘veronicamae.’ I’m sure a lot of us know one another through the So Beautiful Forum, the Official Idina Menzel Message Board, and/or Idina Menzel Worship.

A combination of Idina’s blooming career and Kim’s busy schedule has led to me helping here. Kim wants to be sure her site can keep everyone as up-to-date as possible and I’m here to make that happen. She and I will work as a team to continue to bring everyone news and info as efficiently as possible.
