Idina in London!

Idina Menzel wrapped up her Pride concert “tour” by making her way to London to perform at Pride in London and Heaven nightclub! If you’ve listened to or read any of her interviews over the last few weeks, you already know Heaven was one of the inspirations for her upcoming album! She didn’t attempt to stage dive (lol!) but it looked like she had a blast anyway.

During her Pride in London set, she was joined by Jake Shears, who co-wrote Dramatic with her and Jim Eliot. You can see videos from both events on my Pride Concert Youtube playlist.

Idina also did a ton of press! I added a bunch of videos to the DRAMA QUEEN playlist on Youtube and here are links to her print interviews:

I also added photos of her outside Heart Radio Studios in London on Friday to the gallery:

And finally, photos of her at Wimbledon earlier today:

Idina Menzel Pride & Event Recap!

Last Sunday, I got to see Idina Menzel perform at Capital Pride in Washington DC! General admission concert pits – especially outdoors – are absolutely not my thing but it’s Idina and I knew she’d be performing new music, so of course I had to take a little road trip and see her! I loved seeing her perform her new music with choreography and dancers (!) and it really looked like she was having a blast on stage. The crowd was so incredibly loud and supportive and there’s really nothing like the feeling of tens of thousands of people singing along to her biggest hits. I really had an amazing time and I’m so glad I made the trip! You can see some of my videos on Instagram.

Set List: Dramatic, Beast, Paradise, My Love For Life, Defying Gravity, Let It Go, No Day But Today, MOVE

Idina then made her way to NYC to perform on Live with Kelly and Mark (watch her ‘Dramatic’ performance here and her interview here), do some Zoom interviews to promote her concerts (playlist here), and attend a Tribeca Storyteller’s Session With Billy Porter. Deadline summarized that event, so you can read more here. Photos from that event are also in the gallery:

Finally, Idina performed at a Pride event in Providence, RI where she introduced another DRAMA QUEEN track called ‘Royalty’! Here are some gorgeous photos from that show:

Next up: Pride events in St. Petersburg, FL, St. Louis, MO and London, England (Pride in London, and G-A-Y)!

Idina Menzel Announces ‘Drama Queen’ + Releases MOVE

Exciting news! Idina Menzel’s new single, ‘Move’, is out now along with details about her album, ‘Drama Queen’! Idina worked alongside global hitmakers Nile Rodgers, Jake Shears, Justin Tranter, Sir Nolan, Simon Wilcox, Laura Veltz, and more to create a body of work that is a departure from what she’s released in the past but showcases her powerhouse vocals with soaring anthems, disco-infused beats, and just the right amount of drama. Here’s what she said about the project:

“I am a Drama Queen…I’m dramatic and emotional and passionate. I love the stage and the spotlight. I love the attention and the roar of an audience. I have big feelings. I sing my ass off through tears of joy, heartbreak, anger, and sadness. This project is the most fun I’ve ever had writing and recording an album. I want everyone to move and sing with me and embrace their inner Drama Queen. I’m so thrilled that the first single, ‘Move’ is coming in time for Pride Month. It’s a celebration of love in all its forms. The LGBTQIA+ community has always been so inspiring to me—watching friends and fans live so courageously, so authentically.”

‘Drama Queen’ will be released on August 18 but you can pre-save/pre-order it now! You can also pre-order SIGNED vinyls or CDs along with other ‘Drama Queen’ merch at Idina’s official store! The vinyl on her site comes in an exclusive hot pink while Barnes & Noble is exclusively offering a sky blue edition. Note that Barnes & Noble is listing a release date of October 27 for that version.

Idina visited Ryan Seacrest in-studio to preview some music and tease the album earlier this week. You can watch the interview here.

Idina Menzel’s Podcast Recap + Encore Clearance

As we wrap up the year, there were a couple of new interviews that were released to support the release of ‘Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?’. First up was TODAY’s Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist. A small part (about 8 minutes) of the interview aired on TV on Christmas Day but you can listen to the entire interview on the Sunday Sitdown podcast.

Second, she had a really honest conversation with Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast about career trajectory, IVF, co-parenting, ‘Which Way to the Stage?’, the ‘Wicked’ movie and more. I really enjoyed both interviews and highly recommend them! You can watch/listen at the links posted throughout or on my Youtube playlist.

Also, I meant to post last week, but Idina had another Encore by Idina showcase on QVC last week! You can watch those here. A bunch of pieces are on clearance, so it’s a great time to buy at www.EncorebyIdina.com. I have several and love them all! All very soft and cozy which is my personal aesthetic. ;) I recommend sizing down if you aren’t familiar with QVC sizing.

It’s been a fun Idina year and I can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store! Happy New Year!

‘Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?’ is out now!!

Idina Menzel’s new documentary, “Idina Menzel: Which Way to the Stage?” is streaming now on Disney+! It’s an absolute must-watch for any fan and I can’t recommend it enough, so please check it out! It really captures her essence and showcases all the reasons we all love her so beautifully.

Over the last week or so, Idina has continued promoting the doc with various appearances and interviews including The Kelly Clarkson Show, radio shows and regional outlets like NY1 and Newsday. I’ve continued to update the Youtube playlist for this promo tour, so you can see all those videos there. Keep checking there moving forward for any last minute releases. She also did a number of print interviews which you can read at each source: PEOPLE, PEOPLE (#2), InStyle, Playbill, BroadwayWorld, HuffPost, TVInsider, Advocate. In the near future I’ll also add them to the Press Archive for future reference.

I also added a bunch of promotional images from the film to the gallery!
