Idina Featured on Jennifer Nettles’ New Album

Idina Menzel is featured on Jennifer Nettles’ upcoming Christmas album, “To Celebrate Christmas”! They are singing “Little Drummer Boy”! The album will be released on October 28.

Jennifer announced the news on her official site, saying, “Having both Idina and Andra [Day] lend their idyllic voices to some of my favorite songs is the bow on top!” You can pre-order ‘To Celebrate Christmas’ now.

Idina Menzel spoke with UK’s The Telegraph to promote her upcoming album, idina. It’s a great and in-depth interview, so make sure you check it out. Here’s an excerpt:

“My career is what makes me feel confident,” she says. “To feel self-sufficient and like I don’t need a man to support me and all that kind of stuff makes me feel good about myself. It’s just, you know…” Another pause. “Everyone talks about me being a role model for young girls and that’s not always the truth in my day-to-day personal life. I’m not constantly practising what I preach.

“I’m a little uncomfortable carrying that banner. I’m not always ‘Oh, I feel so great about myself today. I’m a powerful, confident woman, and I’m not going to care what anyone else thinks of me!’,” Menzel begins to laugh. “I mean it’s all bullshit really. I can be a mess. The older I get, I get wiser about some things, and yet I get more fragile and vulnerable about others.”

Sorry for the delay, guys! Lots of Idina news while I was on vacation, so here’s a round-up!

Promo will be really gearing up soon, and a few appearances have already been announced! Most exciting, is that Idina will be signing copies of the album in NYC and Santa Monica, CA!! Idina will appear at the 5th Ave Barnes & Noble in NYC on Friday, September 23 to sign copies of idina. Details here. Idina Menzel went live on Facebook Sunday to perform “Queen of Swords” a song from her upcoming album, idina. It definitely sounds like an anthem! I love it!

Idina was joined by girls from Camp BroaderWay. As I’m sure you all know, A Broader Way Foundation was created by Idina and is dedicated to offering girls from urban communities an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centered programs.
