TOUR GALLERY COMPLETE

TOUR GALLERY COMPLETE

It’s been a long time coming, but my first major project since taking the reins at Idina-Here is complete! We now have an extensive tour gallery chock full of [potentially “illegal”] photos taken by you, the fans. To those who donated – thank you so much! If you see your photos in the gallery mis- or uncredited, do not hesitate to contact me. If you have photos you would like to donate – especially from shows that have few or no photos, including photos from the upcoming tour – just drop me a note. Click the thumbnails below to view photos from the featured concerts, and make sure you navigate to the main concert page to see the rest!

By the way, Idina’s official site is featuring photos taken at meet & greets, so if you were one of the lucky ones to meet Idina after a show, you can submit your photo with Idina to idinateam@gmail.com and have your photo displayed in the official fan gallery!

SOUNDSTAGE PICS

SOUNDSTAGE PICS

Despite all the confusion as to when it was airing, I hope most of you have had the chance to see Idina’s Soundstage concert on PBS. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous and she sounded amazing, but the editing made it lose a little bit of the “Idinaness” that makes a concert her own. Aside from that one tiny criticism, I can’t believe I got to see an Idina Menzel concert on TV – that’s pretty badass! What did everyone else think?

I’ve added a few photos from the concert to our gallery for now, and I’ll be working on screencapping the hour-long event in the coming days, so keep an eye out for that.

Note: In case you missed it, head over to the Idina Menzel LiveJournal Community for some exclusive media! You must have a currently active LiveJournal account and be a member to view the postings.

SOUNDSTAGE TOMORROW + CHESS PICS

SOUNDSTAGE TOMORROW + CHESS PICS

Don’t forget! Tomorrow (Thursday, January 15) PBS is airing Idina’s Soundstage concert special, which was filmed at NYC’s Rose Hall last April. Josh Groban and Ravi Coltrane are special guests for some amazing duets. Be sure to double-check both PBS.org and your own on-screen/hard copy TV guides, because every PBS station has the ability to air it when they see fit. Don’t miss it because you didn’t bother to double-check it!

And her official Soundstage page on PBS’s website is now live! Click here to view new photos, see the setlist, and get a sneak peek at the concert with a performance of “Gorgeous.”

Also, contrary to popular belief (and my own report here), this concert is sadly NOT scheduled for a DVD release at this time. Make sure you record it yourself for repeated viewings, and if you have Blu-Ray, you can still head to your local Sears to pick up the “Best of Soundstage” disc that features “Defying Gravity” and “Awake” with Josh Groban.

Continuing with the PBS theme of late, I finally got around to adding the official photos from the London production to the gallery. Click below to view them.

PBS PRESS JUNKET

PBS PRESS JUNKET

There’s a big television press junket going on in LA this week and PBS was the first station to get to present its upcoming season to the critics. Of course we all know that Idina’s Sound Stage concert special is airing next week (head to PBS.org to check what time it’s airing for you!), but don’t forget that Chess in Concert that Idina performed in London last year will be airing this spring on PBS as well. Both of these performances will be released on DVD shortly after airing (and Chess will be on CD as well), just FYI.

My point? Idina was the entertainment for the critics attending PBS’s presentation! She performed songs from Wicked, Rent, and Chess, as well as a few off I Stand. Click below to view the new images.

THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS

THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS

This past weekend marked the 31st Annual John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts celebration in Washington, DC. Among the recipients of the 31st Annual Kennedy Center Honorees is Idina’s lifelong idol, Barbra Streisand.

Idina and Taye attended this star-studded 2-day, high-profile event along with an audience that included fellow Honorees Morgan Freeman, George Jones, Twyla Tharp, and Pete Townshend & Roger Daltrey, who were seated with President & Mrs. Bush, along with several other political dignitaries and artists from around the world.

Idina was invited to be a part of the celebration on behalf of Barbra Streisand’s contribution to the performing arts. She sang one of Barbra’s most classic songs at the event – “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl. The Washington Post is even hailing her performance as the highlight of the evening!

To see a super tiny clip of Idina’s performance, click here and watch an AP video on YouTube that covers the entire evening.

Photos of the weekend’s events have been added to the gallery; click the thumbnails below to view them. The blue dress is from Saturday’s luncheon and the red is from Sunday’s reception red carpet arrivals – and she looks like buttah!

This event will air on television December 30 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on CBS. Don’t forget to tune in!
